Green Optimisation?
I was asked at a breakfast club, "Can you minimize our carbon footprint whilst optimising our profits?"
The short answer is yes, and it takes three bites of the cherry to work out what compromises you are prepared to take. Oh yes. It also assumes that you have performed a carbon audit. If not, we can guide you through that with a partner organisation.
Firstly, we optimise your company as it exists, purely for profit. You will discover about 25% of your turnover becomes available as profit by doing things a little differently.
Next we minimize your carbon audit and your carbon creating processes along with mitigations such as tree planting.
Then we look at the two and see where there are trade-offs. synergies and contradictions and resolve them.
The result is the most profitable mode of operation with the lowest carbon footprint.
To the best of my knowledge, no one else in the UK offers this. Minimizing Carbon is usually done through a carbon audit and then by cost accounting and it screws up profits in a big way! By this route, you will know what the lowest carbon footprint possible is.
Most CEO's thing of Cost Accounting and Management Accounting as a means to maximize profits. They are not.
They also regard carbon footprint reductions as a means of annihilating them.
It need not be so!
